On May 24, 2023, around 15:30 UTC, BPX Beacon Chain generated a genesis block and the V3 network officially launched. It’s time to summarize the launch and announce some related things.

The launch took place without any significant technical issues. Some users had problems with starting their nodes, but they mainly resulted from not following the instructions and were quickly resolved. The initial difficulty adjustment took place today and blockchain is now stable. Currently we are pretty sure that the BPX migration was absolutely successful!

We’ve noticed only one worrying issue in the BPX V3 network. We have enough Beacon Chain nodes with public IP and open TCP port 6201. However, there are not enough publicly reachable Execution Clients with open TCP+UDP port 30303 and new users often cannot find a peer with a free slot to connect. We realize that many people used to the old version of BPX do not realize that it is necessary to forward / open one more port. BPX V3 consists of two independent peer-to-peer networks. The first one is a network formed by Beacon Clients communicating with each other on TCP port 6201. The second one is a network of Execution Clients that exchange informations using TCP+UDP port 30303. Therefore, we kindly ask everyone who has such a possibility to open TCP+UDP port 30303 on your router / firewall. This will make synchronization easier for both other users and yourself.

The total supply of BPX in V2 network from block 0 to 2.300.000 is exactly 245.999.820 BPX. The same amount of BPX was generated to the Infinex Bridge address in the first V3 network block to be successively paid out to users transferring their funds to the new network. At the time of writing this article, 113.641.600 BPX have already been transferred, which is about 46% of the total circulating supply.

We remind all BPX holders again to transfer their funds to the V3 network as soon as possible if you haven’t already done it. Please tell your friends about the necessary transfer of funds, post information in social media groups where potential BPX holders may be present. We don’t want anyone to lose their funds, but we can’t keep the V2 network alive too long.

The ability to seamlessly transfer your funds from the V2 network will be available until July 1, 2023. Until that day, we will maintain the timelord of the old network 24 hours a day. Then for 2 months, i.e. until September 1, 2023, we will run it only for 1 hour each day. We hope that in this way, users who do not follow the project, do not check their wallet, but have farmers running, will notice the lack of synchronization and as a result will reach information about the migration and use the last chance to transfer their funds.

On September 1, 2023, our V2 network timelord will be shut down forever. Despite this, the V2 network will continue to be supported by Infinex Bridge until March 1, 2024, which is equal to half a year. However, in order to transfer your funds during this period, you will need to run both your own wallet, full node and timelord.

On March 1, 2024, the V2 network will be removed from Infinex Bridge and there will be no any possibility to recover funds remaining in the V2 network. On the same day, all BPX coins on the V3 network that were generated to the bridge address but not picked up by anyone will be officially burned and all details about burning transaction will be publicly announced. If the burning were to take place today, 132,358,220 BPX would be burned, i.e. the total circulating supply would be halved.

Please note that despite our schedule, the old network may become unusable at any time due to the difficulty adjusted to the large netspace, which was suddenly gone.
